JENNIFER MACALUSO-GILMORE (JEN MAC) founded “Something Different For Women, LLC” in 2003…and since that date has created a series of unique and empowering programs that have benefited well over a thousand women in NYC and around the globe; women in Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Denver, Seattle, Boston, Wisconsin, Chicago, Toronto, Ottawa, Copenhagen, Paris, Dubai, Cairo, Yemen, India and Malaysia. Her programs are designed for women looking to make positive life changes or simply wanting improvement to the overall quality of their lives. Jen’s programs were born out of endless requests from friends and strangers alike, who, over the course of many years, were attracted to her positive energy, inspirational words and her own personal successes and self motivation.
A graduate of N.Y.U., Jen began her own journey of awakening and personal transformation when she started there in 1990. Her diverse training is a compilation over 28 years studying with various schools, programs and courses for her own personal development and growth. An avid, unending student of life, her work continually focuses on her own journey of healing towards wholeness, to then pass onto other women the resources she’s learned as well as the teachings and wisdom she’s gleaned. With over 12,000 hours put into a combination of her own studying and healing work, along with more than 7,700 hours teaching, some of the modalities, schools of thought and branches of philosophy Jennifer’s explored are: Core Energetics, Freudian, Jungian and Cognitive Behavioral therapies, “A Course In Miracles”, Twelve Step Programs, Metaphysics, Women’s History, New Thought History, Reiki, Rebirthing, Ayurvedic teachings, Primordial Sound meditation, Hatha, Vinyasa and Hot yoga, the Alkaline healing philosophy, PTSD and Trauma work, Psychodrama and Experiential therapies, EMDR, EFT, Somato Emotional Release and Myofascial Release. In addition to all classes, courses and schooling, Jennifer’s also read over 300 hundred books which include many on the following topics; overcoming adversity, healing and health, co-dependence, addiction, goal setting, quantum physics, eastern philosophies and the powers of consciousness.
Jennifer’s been featured in the NY Times, nominated for “Intelligent Optimist of the Year” in Intelligent Optimist magazine and featured on Claudia Chan’s 100 “Remarkable Women” list. She’s also been quoted in other well known publications and has been in discussions with major publishers and production companies on possible future projects. Jennifer is happily married to her best friend of 18 years and the proud mother of two children, ages 11 and 8.
